The Funchal City Council unanimously decided, in a public meeting held on March 26, 2026, to approve the extension of the deadline for the preparation of the Funchal Municipal Master Plan (PDMF) revision. The decision, formalized through Notice no. 133/2026, extends the preparation period by another 24 months, starting from the end of the previously set deadline.
This revision process, which aims to update the main land-use planning instrument of the municipality, officially began with the publication of Notice no. 155/2024 in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (JORAM) on April 10, 2024.
